So Not a Fairytale

Rose was talking to me the other day about Kai. "We can trust each other, right?" she asked, pulling her hair away from her face. I nodded. "Of course. I can trust you with pretty much anything!". I smiled and she did too, but it faded quickly. Usually when Rose smiles, it stays for a while. "I know something's wrong Rose. What is it?" I asked poking her back. She fell into tears, her eyes red and her face showed no sign of happiness. "I know I can trust you, but you have to promise not to tell Kai." I nodded again, and she sniffled a bit. Her sobbing calmed down into a light cry. "Okay. You know how you were going to help me get home, right?" she asked, looking up. Tears were quickly drying onto her red cheeks. "Of course. I know I can help you. We just have to get through it together." I said as I fixed my beanie. "No, it isn't that. It's about Kai, Izzy." I frowned. She began crying heavier again. I continued listening to her. "If we're going to get me home...I can't be with him anymore.."
